East Hope, ID

In 2008, flooding on Strong Creek damaged East Hope’s water diversion and collection system, as well as the City’s access road. JAS assisted the City in obtaining design and construction emergency funding from USDA Rural Development for water system improvements and repairs to the roadway. Water system improvements included a new sheet pile diversion dam with subsurface water collection, a collection box, a new water supply line to the treatment plant, and a mainline extension across Strong Creek. In addition, stream stabilization measures were designed and installed to protect the dam.

JAS efficiently worked with the City to create contract documents and publicly bid on the project in a timely manner.

Regulatory agencies that JAS frequently contacted and assisted our client with permitting for this project included the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, Idaho Department of Water Resources, Idaho Department of Lands, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
