JAS has been providing engineering services for the City of Spirit Lake’s wastewater system since 2000. The first phase of the City of Spirit Lake Wastewater Facility Upgrade was completed in 2004. The project included rebuilding the land application system, construction of a new headworks screening facility, and design and construction of a new 32 MG lined storage lagoon. Since the initial project, JAS has provided design and construction management services for the following
upgrades to the City’s wastewater treatment and disposal system:
- Upgrade of the Chlorine Contact piping system, 2004;
- Expansion of the land application system to Field 4-forest site, 2012;
- Expansion of the land application system to Field 5-forest site, 2017;
- Irrigation pump replacement upgrade, 2017;
- Lagoon Cell No. 3 Aeration project, 2017;
- Lagoon Cell No. 4 intake structure construction, 2017;
- Lagoon Cell No. 1 bypass reconstruction, 2017;
- Irrigation booster pump station construction, 2018;
- Field No. 1 expansion, 2018;
- Irrigation land application system metering and automation upgrade,2018;
- Lagoon Cell No. 5 expansion to the treatment and storage system, 2018.
JAS has assisted the City with numerous other public works capital improvement projects over the years related to their water system, including engineering services and State permitting assistance for the City’s water system expansion consisting of a new 900-gallon per minute well, pump house, and associated distribution piping.
JAS has also assisted the City with public meetings related to the purchase of Federal lands from the U.S. Forest Service and reviewing proposed private development plats and infrastructure plans.
Regulatory agencies that JAS frequently contacted and assisted our client with permitting for these projects included the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and the Idaho Department of Water Resources.
